Four Arrested in Citrus Heights Burglary Pursuit

The four burglary suspects are from Fresno County.

Citrus Heights Police Department apprehended four Fresno County residents suspected of absconding with property from a Citrus Heights business Wednesday morning.

The early morning arrest followed a pursuit of the suspects when CHPD police were alerted to a citizen's report of several suspects removing property from a business in the 7200 block of Auburn Blvd., according to police.

Officers responded to the scene and arrived at approximately 4:45 a.m. as the suspects drove away from the business in what was later determined to be a stolen U-Haul box van, according to a Citrus Heights Police press release.

Citrus Heights Police Officers attempted to stop the U-Haul van despite the suspects' attempts to flee. The pursuit ended when the U-Haul driver attempted to ram through an apartment complex security gate on Auburn Oaks Court, according to the release. Officers were then able to arrest two of the suspects, though two managed to escape immediate arrest.

With assistance from the Roseville Police Department, Placer County Sheriff’s Department, and the California Highway Patrol, a perimeter was established and two additional suspects were apprehended within the perimeter, according to the release. Police officials said all items of stolen property were recovered from the U-Haul van. According to police, authorities are working on locating a fifth suspect.
