Learn how to recognize and prevent bullying during a day-long conference in Citrus Heights Sept. 21.
Lisa Ford Berry, author and founder of B.R.A.V.E Society (Bullies Really Are Violating Everyone) will discuss all forms of bullying — taunting, harassing and cyber.
B.R.A.V.E Society is a Sacramento-area nonprofit that started to raise awareness about bullying after Berry's son committed suicide on his 17th birthday; he was bullied at school, Berry wrote on Maria Shriver's blog.
The event, called “Sticks, Stones, Tweets, Hashtags – Bullying in the Lives of our Children,” is free and open to parents, teachers and community members.
The event is sponsored by the Sierra Sacramento Valley Medical Society Alliance, Kaiser Permanente and the California Medical Association Alliance Foundation.
