How Many Trees Are On Your Citrus Heights Property?

The city wants to know.

The City of Citrus Heights wants to know how many trees you have on our property.

They're holding a workshop Oct. 1 to teach residents how to add their trees into the city's tree inventory.

From the City of Citrus Heights:

On October 1, 2013, the City will host a community workshop to teach residents how to add their trees to the City’s Urban Forest Tree Inventory.

Currently, the City is assessing the community’s urban forest as the baseline for an Urban Forest Management Plan. The Urban Forest Management Plan will be a component of a comprehensive Citrus Heights Urban Greening Strategy.

The City is recruiting citizen arborists to help count residential trees in Citrus Heights. Residents will contribute to the tree count by entering the trees in their yard on the Sacramento Tree Foundation’s regional database, located at GreenprintMaps.org.

At the Citizen Arborist Community Workshop, the Sacramento Tree Foundation will provide a tutorial of the GreenprintMaps.org website and host a question and answer session.

Citizen Arborist Community Workshop
Date: October 1, 2013
Time: 6:00 to 7:00 p.m.
Location: Citrus Heights Community Center, 6300 Fountain Square Drive, Citrus Heights, CA 95621

Funding for this project is provided by Proposition 84 to improve the sustainability and livability of California’s communities through the Strategic Growth Council’s Urban Greening for Sustainable Communities grant program.
