After closing their doors in December 2012 for a Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization, the Hostess Brands Inc. will once again distribute their sweet goodies, beginning July 15.

The Hostess website is offering a real time ticking clock countdown, boasting “when it reads septuple zeros, the greatest treats the world has ever know will triumphantly return. Twinkies, CupCakes and other American snack icons that people decided they just couldn’t live without.” You can get your clock by email by visiting the Hostess website here.

Here are some thoughts local Patch readers shared about the great Twinkie return on Facebook:

John Hoffman: Did anyone 'really' ever miss them?

Lisa Weaver Yates: National Twinkie hangover on Tuesday?

Thomas Petersen: Great! I can get back to not buying them. Making up for lost time.

Sara Grace: I bet the people who bought them off eBay for hundreds of dollars now feel dumb. Since they have gone out of business if I want a Twinkie (not very often) I bought little Debbie's called cloud cakes they taste the same but Iam happy they are bringing twinkles back

Scott Schiller: But...what am I going to do with the shipping container full of them I've been hoarding??

Kimberly Long Shearer: Gross. I don't treat my body like a garbage can.

Although Twinkies are still currently selling on Ebay for $10-24 per box of 10, the Huffington Post reported hefty price tags of up to $200,000 after the closing announcements.
