Vanessa Machen and Angie Vinyard, both with Frei Real Estate Services in Citrus Heights, Calif., have received the “Certified Community Association Manager” (CCAM®) designation from the California Association of Community Managers (CACM). The CCAM is the only California-specific certification awarded to professionals working in the community association management field in California. An estimated 278,000 people live in homeowners associations in Sacramento County, or roughly one-fifth of the population.

“Last year was a banner year for community management professionals with more than 150 people statewide earning California certification through the CCAM program,” said Karen Conlon, president and CEO of CACM. “HOA management is extremely complex in our state, which currently features more than 1,200 laws pertaining to common interest developments. As a result, more homeowners associations are seeking community managers who hold California-specific certification as demonstration of their knowledge and expertise in California association management.”
