Education News from the DeMattei Real Estate Team

Sharing with you the variety of needs of our local schools so that you can find ways to help. Watch for my periodic updates on simple ways to provide resources or volunteer in the classrooms.

Being active in the community is a part of who we are as a business serving the Citrus Heights area for over 15 years.  Supporting the schools today is a way to impact our future generations and as Herbert Hoover once said, "Our children are our greatest natural resource."  We believe that's true.

Everyone knows that our schools have had budget cuts but not everyone knows what they can do to help our schools meet the needs of our students.  As part of our business, I am an active member of the Citrus Heights Regional Chamber of Commerce and I help Chair the Education Committee.  As such, I get direct information from the school Principals, Administrators and Teachers on what's going on in our classrooms and what the biggest needs are for students. Oftentimes it's very simple things like school supplies, backpacks or copier paper.  Other times it's manpower to help clean-up a campus or playground or volunteers to come in and read to a student.

It may surprise you (as it did me) that one of needs of our students is alarm clocks.  Are you surprised?  I was, but as it was explained to me, many students' parents cannot afford alarm clocks so that students are often late for school.  So if you have access to a supplier or if you would like to donate some funds to purchase alarm clocks, let me know.
