Cause of Morning Fire in Home Being Renovated Remains a Mystery

No one was home at the time of the fire.

A Tuesday morning report of smoke emenating from the roof of a home on the 7500 block of Sun Avenue in Citrus Heights has Sacramento Metro Fire investigators continuing to search for clues.

The report came in around 8:31 a.m. and upon arrival, Metro fire crews did in fact observe a fire in the attice of the house, according to a press release. Metro Fire officials explained the home was under renovation at the time of the fire and no one was home.

Fire crews were able to quickly extinguish the fire, according to the release, while protecting neighboring homes as well. Investigators believe the quick response may have saved the homeowner as much as $50,000 worth of property and belongings.

There were no injuries to citizens or fire personnel. At the time of this release the fire is still under investigation.
