His name is Juan Rangel-Villanueva, but according to Citrus Heights Police Department officials, little more is known about the man found with multiple stab wounds outside his Citrus Heights home Tuesday evening.
At this point, detectives have not yet been able to identify any suspects let alone a motive, prompting the department to consider the death a possible random act of violence, said CHPD investigator Chad Morris.
During interviews with the roommates of the victim, detectives were able to identify that Rangel-Villanueva, 29, worked for a local restaurant and did not possess any form of valid identification, Morris said. Morris was unable to provide the name of the restaurant.
Rangel-Villanueva was found by his roommates outside their 5600 block Mariposa Avenue residence, bleeding from multiple stab wounds. Roommates attempted to administer life-saving techniques, but were unable to resuscitate the 29-year-old.
According to the report filed by the Sacramento County Coroner's Office, Rangel-Villanueva has a sister by the name of Berenis Rangel-Villanueva.
