Three Arrested, Stolen Vehicle Recovered in Citrus Heights DUI Warrant Sweep

The following news release was issued by the Citrus Heights Police Department on Jan. 19:

The Citrus Heights Police Department conducted a DUI Warrant Sweep the morning of January 19th, 2014. The warrant sweep was funded by a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. The primary goal of the operation was to locate and arrest individuals who had active warrants for DUI related offenses.

Officers assigned to the DUI warrant sweep attempted to serve a total of 10 warrants throughout the city. Officers arrested three subjects for active DUI warrants and recovered a stolen vehicle involved in a recent carjacking incident in the City of Sacramento.

Motorists are reminded to utilize a designated driver and to not drink and drive. Officers with the Citrus Heights Police Department have investigated collisions within the city wherein habitual DUI offenders have been involved. Warrant sweeps and stakeouts are needed to reduce the amount of habitual offenders that drive within the city.
