Citrus Heights Golf Club Launches FootGolf

You can now play FootGolf, a cross between soccer and golf, at a 9-hole course at Foothill Golf Center in Citrus Heights.

Ever heard of FootGolf? A cross between golf and soccer, players use a soccer ball to kick the ball from the teeing area to the 50-meter area in the least amount of kicks possible, according to the American FootGolf League

Now you can give this sport a try at Foothill Golf Center in Citrus Heights. The center opened a FootGolf course earlier this week and features nine holes, 960 yards of FootGolf with a par of 32, according to a press release. The course is sanctioned by the American FootGolf Association and designed by FootGolf director Arturo Barragan. 

"Golfers and soccer players alike, will be able to join us at our course and enhance their short game," Barragan said in a release. "They will be able to work on precision passing and long distance shooting."

To celebrate the launch of FootGolf at the local course, a celebration week will begin Friday, Oct. 11 through Friday, Oct. 18 with specials and discounts. 

A round of FootGolf, which is nine holes, costs $9 a round. There is also a 15-minute orientation available for new players.
