Car Washes to Support Brothers Struck by Suspected Drunk Driver

The fundraisers Saturday will raise money for the Perez family. The brothers were hit while walking to school in Citrus Heights Oct. 5.

Two car washes have been set up to help raise funds for the Perez brothers, who were struck by a suspected drunk driver while walking to school in Citrus Heights Oct. 5.

Both car washes will take place this Saturday, Oct. 13 — one from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Skycrest Elementary School, 5641 Mariposa Ave. in Citrus Heights, and the other from 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at Frank’s Used Tires, 6220 Fruitridge Road in Sacramento.

Money raised will go to support the Perez family.

Juan, the older brother, is recovering at home, receiving physical therapy to recover from his injuries, the Perez brothers’ aunt, . Henry remains in critical condition in the hospital on life support.

Candace Perez also set up a trust fund for the boys. Donations can be made to the "Juan and Henry Perez Trust Fund" at any Chase Bank branch under the account No. 423873525. Also, according to San Juan Unified School officials, a PayPal system is also being established.

Citrus Heights Police have arrested 52-year-old Teresa Bales-Sterba of Orangevale; she has been charged with felony driving under the influence.
